AMAZING MEETING TIME IN OIARTZUN – BASQUE COUNTRY OF SPAIN
The final meeting for the Influence Youth Project was held in Oiartzun, Spain on Saturday October 29, with the presence of representatives froms partners from Italy, Russia, Romania and Turkey. The 20 month long strategic association aimed to create useful tools for empowering young people and social operators that work with young people at risk of being radicalized.
The meeting was hosted by local NGO Abarka in its office, it included a discussion between the partners to evaluate the project, the impact it had on the participants and the sustainability program, to guarantee that the project continues to have a positive influence in the communities.
The first phase of the meeting sought to identify opportunities for improvement in every step of the project. Then the intellectual outputs were discussed, pointing the strong points of each one and the dissemination plan, aimed to promote the use of the created tools.
Finally, the partners proceeded to discuss the national sustainability programs, actions they will implement to promote the intellectual outputs within the community they are a part of. The next phase of the project will involve the community, through media promotion, talks and workshops given in schools and colleges. This phase aims to stimulate the active participation and commitment of local youth (at risk and victims) in the face of radicalization and to transmit the tools developed to decision makers, so that as a society we can better address this social phenomenon.
The partners will make use of social networks, such as TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, to disseminate the tools created and spark a conversation among youth about radicalization.
After the meeting ended, each participant was given a certificate for their participation and they were encouraged to enjoy the Basque Country´s people, sceneries and gastronomy.
